The New York Shockers Women’s Premier Soccer (WPSL) Team is thrilled to welcome
Morgan Farnan (formerly Burchardt), one of the Capital Region's most decorated women’s
soccer players, as an assistant coach. With an illustrious playing career and a growing reputation
as a talented coach, Morgan brings unparalleled experience and leadership to the Shockers.
Illustrious Playing Career
Morgan’s playing career at The College of Saint Rose was extraordinary. A five-year team captain
and four-time Northeast-10 (NE10) Conference All-League honoree, she consistently excelled
on the field while demonstrating exemplary leadership. As a senior, Morgan earned United
Soccer Coaches third-team All-America honors, NE10 first-team All-Conference, and D2CCA
second-team All-East accolades. She led her team to the NE10 regular season and
tournament championships and propelled the Golden Knights to the NCAA Final Four, earning
NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team honors.
Morgan’s career highlights include:

114 career points: Fourth all-time in Saint Rose history, with 31 goals and 52 assists.

52 assists: Second all-time in program history, including a school-record four seasons with 10+ assists.

Game-winning assist with 10 seconds left in the 2019 NE10 Championship Final.

Senior year achievements: Ranked seventh nationally with 14 assists, leading her team to the National Quarterfinals with a game-winning goal.

Recognized as Capital District Sports Woman of the Year and Grand Collegiate Woman of the Year (2019).

Named American Soccer Coaches All-American, Academic All-American, and D2CCA first-team All-East.

NCAA Division II National Semi-Finalist (2014, 2019).

High School and Early Success
Before her collegiate career, Morgan excelled at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School, where she was named New York State Class "A" Player of the Year three times. She led her high school team to four Section II Class "A" championships and three state semifinal appearances, setting a New York State Section II record with 30 assists in a single season.
Transition to Coaching
After her standout playing career, Morgan transitioned into coaching, joining the Saint Rose coaching staff as an assistant coach from July 2020 to January 2024. During her tenure, she contributed to an impressive 57-3-5 overall coaching record and earned numerous accolades:
